Advanced PHDS for Olympic Region Fish Passages

TKDA Engineers Fish Passages in Olympic Region

TKDA* worked alongside prime consultant HDR Inc. and a hydraulics subconsultant to develop the creek’s vertical and horizontal realignments and establish surface models of existing and proposed CAD surfaces to develop plans, critical sections, details, and the culvert geometry for insertion into the Preliminary Hydraulic Design document deliverables.

Our team provided MicroStation & Inroads modeling, engineering, team coordination, and plan preparation services related to fish passage hydraulic crossings for:

  • Lunch Creek Tributary site 990452
  • Lunch Creek site 990546
  • Crane Creek site 990883
  • Unnamed Creek (Pacific Ocean) site 991271
  • Wayne Creek site 991272

Additionally, TKDA developed the preliminary channel design on eight passages, including alignment, profile, section, and proposed surfaces using Inroad’s design tools. Our detail-oriented staff conducted Topographical Surveys and re-established control using project coordinates provided by WSDOT and surveyed the topography of the surroundings, picked up wetland flagging, surveyed trees, and the general hydrology of the creek’s boundaries, thalweg, and full bank width.

*Professional services for this project were provided by Saez Consulting Engineers, Inc., which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of TKDA. Learn more about the acquisition here.
