TKDA leads comprehensive double-track expansion with precision design and management

When BNSF Railway Company needed a double-track expansion on the Glasgow Subdivision, they selected TKDA to provide design and construction management services.

TKDA’s design included approximately 70 miles of new track, universal crossovers, setout track, bridge structures, access roads, signal pads, turnout pads, public/private road crossings, culverts, inter-track drains, and ditches. The design also required surveying, wetland delineation of over 300 basins, and cultural resources inventory. For the expansion project, TKDA designed 15 new bridges which typically matched the hydraulic opening of the adjacent existing bridges.
