TKDA Helped Preserve History by Restoring a Minnesota Courthouse

After years of neglect and deferred maintenance, the Beltrami County Historic Courthouse needed significant restoration, including extensive roof repair to fix major leaks. TKDA completed the architectural design and oversaw the construction and functional restoration of the entire building.

Exterior restoration consisted of tuckpointing and replacing the 30-year-old windows with historically accurate high-efficiency double-hung windows. The exterior renovation also included extensive roof repair, replacing the painted sheet metal dome with copper, and re-roofing the sloped shingle and pitched roofs. The complete interior renovation included new offices throughout the building and restorative treatment to common areas and stairways. Listed on the National Registrar of Historic Places, the Beltrami County Courthouse is once again equipped to serve the community.
